Meet The Dream Team

Dr. Adrian Walton
Veterinarian, Owner
Dr. Adrian Walton is a graduate of University of Guelph and has degrees in Marine Biology from Dalhousie University and a Masters Degree from Simon Fraser University. Prior to moving to Maple Ridge he was an emergency veterinarian in Seattle. His area of interest is exotic animal medicine and spends a lot of his spare time helping abandoned and neglected reptiles and exotics find forever homes.

Dr. Meaghan Crawford
Veterinarian
Dr. Meaghan Crawford recently graduated from the University of Calgary. She brings new and exciting knowledge from her 8 years at university. Meaghan has a huge interest in exotics, especially reptiles, as well as wildlife. She has adopted several homeless reptiles and amphibians over the years, and recently took in her first mammal – a kitten with a brain condition. Outside of work, Meaghan enjoys travelling the world and exploring her backyard.

Sue Cummings
Office Manager
As our office manager, Sue wrangles all our staff into the top notch team that they are. Sue has been working at Dewdney Animal Hospital since High School.

Brad Thurlow
Vet Tech
After a long career with Kodak, Brad Thurlow decided to pursue his passion for animal care as a veterinary technologist and has been with Dewdney Animal Hospital since 2013. He has a soft spot for small dogs, especially schnauzers. If there is one in the clinic, chances are that Brad has found a moment or two for cuddles! Outside of the clinic Brad keeps busy golfing, fixing up his old MGB, looking after his reef aquarium or travelling with his wife, Christine.

Geneya
Receptionist
Genaya is our cat lady extraordinaire. She started as a weekend cleaner and worked her way up to be a veterinary assistant. When she is not playing with her cats, cuddling with cats, working with cats, or talking with cats, she is most likely sleeping (surrounded by cats). She also studies piano and art in her spare time.

Dana
Receptionist
Dana’s soft spot is for the “special” ones, which is why her house is full of rescues, 3 dogs and 4 cats, including 2 three legged babies, one of which you may meet at the clinic helping out. Going back to school at 37 years old, for her Vet Office Assistant Course, finally made her dreams come true of working in the vet industry. In her spare time, she loves to hike and run with her dogs, or curl up with a good book.

Tonya
Veterinary Assistant Technician
Tonya has been in the veterinary industry since 1997 and joined our team in January 2014. When she is not caring for and loving up the animals at the clinic (especially the cats), she can be found volunteering with the “Lower Mainland Network For Animals”, entertaining friends, or gardening with her human, Tomcat, and their new rescue dog “Jimmy”.

Jerrika
Assistant
Jerrika is a graduate of the VOA program at Douglas College. She has always had a love for animals and decided to pursue a career with them. When she’s not at home snuggling with her two cats, you can find her catching up on the latest primetime T.V show, sitting outside with her dogs enjoying a good cup of tea, or out in the baseball diamond playing a classic game of ball.

Kathleen
Receptionist
“Kat” has worked at Dewdney for 13 years. She has built strong relationships with the long time clients and the new alike. She will help you answer any questions and assist you and your pet to the best of her ability. When not at work, she hangs out with her two German Shepherds and her Sheltie, running the trails, or working in her garden.

Gabrielle Beer
Vet Tech
Gabrielle has been an animal lover since before she could walk. After completing a Veterinary Assistant course and working for several years in a specialty animal practice, Gabrielle enrolled in Thompson Rivers University’s Veterinary Technician program. Gabrielle graduated from TRU on the Dean’s List, and was also the recipient of the Surgery Award for her graduating class. Gabrielle is thrilled to have joined the team at Dewdney and is excited to care for the animals that we call family.
