August is over, and so is another eventful summer at Dewdney Animal Hospital. Check out some of the memorable moments we experienced this month:

Dr. Walton does the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!

Watch Dr. Walton show you some of the day-to-day challenges at Dewdney Animal Hospital, and then proceed to do the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Dr. Hook

This endangered Western Painted Turtle was brought to Dewdney by Mike Hopcraft, also known as The Reptile Guy.

Western Painted Turtle discovered with a fishing hook lodged in its throat

Watch as Dr. Walton removes a fishing hook from his throat!

The little turtle recovered very well from his surgery and is headed to the Vancouver Zoo as part of the Coastal Painted Turtle Project.

Meal time for Fluffy the Tortoise

That’s captivating stuff.

More fun with bats!

Did you know that a fungus is driving North American bats to near extinction? They’re cuter animals than you might think!

Beasts of Birdin’

Bats weren’t the only patients winging it at Dewdney this month:
