Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity.

We hope you had a yummy Thanksgiving and a very spooktacular Halloween season this year! From teddy bear surgery to a bitey (tiny) lizard, we at Dewdney Animal Hospital had our work cut out for us. Read along to discover some of the big things that happened this month!
Lucky Little Pixie
Pixie the cat captured our hearts and imaginations. Pixie was hit by a car in Coquitlam a couple of weeks ago. She suffered nerve damage to her right front leg. Because she was going to need lots of physiotherapy, and maybe (and probably likely) an amputation, Coquitlam Animal Shelter surrendered her to us so that we can do the necessary treatments.
We took Pixie to K9 H2O in Abbotsford to work on the leg to see if aqua therapy could benefit this little kitten. She was a natural! Make sure you check out k9H20 in Abbotsford if your pet could benefit from some therapy! Thanks again to Kendall DeMenech for all your help.

We do not seek donations, but we ask for people to donate to the BCSPCA to help other animals in similar situations. I would personally like to thank all my staff at Dewdney Animal Hospital who have been donating their time in helping Pixie and the myriad of other animals we work with…..

Halloween Teddy Bear Surgery
Did you know that the annual Teddy Bear Picnic is the day before Halloween? Each year young Teddy Bears who over indulge at the picnic come to Dewdney Animal Hospital with stomach aches. Children from all over help Dr. Walton and his staff examine, x-ray and help remove excess candy from the Bears. We had an amazing time this year with lots of turnout and fun! We hope we made a lasting memory for the awesome families that joined us! Watch our spooky video as we discover and experience Halloween Teddy Bear Surgery.
