Another month has gone by, and we have another month’s worth of highlights to share! This June, we were visited by raccoons, birds, goats, turtles, and of course, adorable kittens.

Enjoy the weather, but be careful with your pets in the car!

With the summer heat setting in, Dr. Walton appeared on CTV once again to explain the dangers of leaving your dog in the car, even for short periods of time. You can watch the video here.

Raccoons causing a ruckus!

Watch as Dr. Walton handles a rather vocal group of raccoons. Don’t try this at home!

We’d like to give a big shout-out to CritterCare for making room for these guys.

What did Dewdney Animal Hospital give to the sick bird?

Tweetment.

Okay, that was a bad joke. But maybe these ducklings will make you laugh:

And here are three more winged visitors who showed up at Dewdney:

Meet Kona!

This 6-year-old teacup poodle was relinquished by an elderly owner in Fort St. John. Kona has a wonderful personality, but because of severe dental problems, he wasn’t adoptable. Dewdney Animal Hospital stepped in, offering to fix him pro bono and find him a new home. We’ll try to keep you updated on Kona in the weeks ahead.

A runaway goat!

Goat at Dewdney Animal Hospital

This male goat was found one day on Lougheed Highway and 272 Street. Eventually, his owners were found and he hitched a ride home.

Why did the turtle cross the road?

We’re not sure exactly, but unfortunately she was run over. Sadly, studies show that some people actively try to hit these animals with their cars when they have the opportunity. This Western Painted turtle was lucky to escape with minimal shell fractures.

And lastly, as promised: kittens!

It was worth sticking around for that, wasn’t it?
